2ND SEMESTER ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES

UPDATED ANNOUNCEMENT: 2ND SEMESTER ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES

Important Update: New Enrollment System

We're excited to announce that we'll be implementing a new enrollment system for the 2nd semester. This system aims to streamline the enrollment process and ensure a smoother experience for all students, i.e. avoidance of the “hunger games” process during enrollment.

This version incorporates the adjustment of the Christmas break, as per University Memorandum No. 2024-0111.

KEY CHANGES:

  • No Pre-Registration: You will not need to pre-register for classes.
  • Merged Sections: To optimize class availability, we've merged sections for certain courses.
  • Pre-loaded Subjects: All subjects, except for GE Elective courses, will be pre-loaded into the system.
  • GE Elective Course Selection: You will be able to choose your GE Elective courses directly through the system.

ENROLLMENT SCHEDULE:

Pre-Enrollment Activities:

  • Final Grade Submission: December 9-16, 2024
  • Student Settlement of Obligations and Holds, i.e. Finance, OSA, Library, Physical Plant, etc.
  • Check your SIS portals for possible holds and settle them on or before December 14.
    • Students with outstanding balances will not be able to view or print their grades. Student performances can’t be evaluated, and in the process, will not be created registrations for the second semester enrollment. Evaluation will proceed until all holds are settled.
  • Faculty Evaluation by Students: Please take note that this will help your teachers improve on their teaching, please take this seriously and evaluate your teacher’s manner of teaching carefully. As in the previous practice, evaluation of your teachers in the different course/s will be required to see your final grades. December 9-14, 2024
  • Student Performance Evaluation and Section Assignment by the Department Chair: December 17-20, 2024
    • After evaluation and assignment of section AND after the student settled all holds, a student registration will be created with predefined courses and schedules. In the registration, the selection of GE Elective course(s) will be made available through SIS.
  • QPI Appeals. Filing of QPI appeals through SIS of Probationary Students (if applicable).
Endorsement of QPI Appeals by the Chairs to the Standards Committee through AIS.

    Note:
During this transition to the new enrollment process, we will temporarily suspend the provision in the Student Handbook regarding the filing of QPI appeals (Section 16, particularly 16.3). As a result:

    • Students on probationary status who fail to meet the required QPI will remain on probationary status.
    • No QPI appeals will need to be filed this semester.

This adjustment is intended to allow Department Chairs to focus on the implementation of the new enrollment process and sectioning.

  • Christmas Break: December 20, 2024 - January 5, 2025

Enrollment Period:

  • All Students:
    • Payment of Fees: January 6-10, 2025
